CLUB OF THE MONTH
a reputation for its welcoming and inclusive spirit, making every player feel at home whether they are just picking up a racquet for the first time or competing at an elite level. The club works tirelessly to foster tennis opportunities across the board, from beginners through to seasoned competitors.
Their generosity to the Peninsula tennis community is second to none. Overport Park has hosted everything from finals, presentation days, and meetings to some of our biggest PTA tournaments. Whenever support is needed, they are never afraid to put their hand up.
With strong participation across Juniors, Open competition, and Midweek Ladies, Overport Park continues to be a vibrant hub of tennis activity. Their commitment, community spirit, and willingness to contribute make them an outstanding example of what club culture should be.
A huge thank you to everyone at Overport Park Tennis Club for your ongoing support and leadership within the PTA family. 🎾💚

PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Grace has had a truly remarkable 2025. Earlier this year, she proudly wore the green and gold, representing Australia at the prestigious 12 & Under ATF event in Kazakhstan. She didn’t stop there – Grace also travelled through Europe, capturing the Amstelpark Zuiver Trophy in Amsterdam in June, showing she can take on the best from around the world.
Closer to home, Grace continues to shine on local courts. She has now claimed the PTA Girls’ Championship two years running (2024 & 2025) – an incredible achievement that cements her as one of the standouts of our junior competition.
Behind every great player is a great support team, and Grace works closely with coach Dave Laird from Better Tennis, where her talent and determination are nurtured in a high-performance environment.
Grace’s journey is a brilliant example of where dedication and passion can take you. From Peninsula competition to the international stage, she’s inspiring the next generation of juniors to dream big.
Congratulations, Grace! 🎾

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
Peninsula Tennis Association and the wider tennis community. Julia served for many years as the PTA Secretary, guiding the Association through important transitions and ensuring strong leadership during challenging periods. Her commitment to junior tennis and representative events has been second to none, helping to shape opportunities for countless young players.
At a club level, Julia also gave enormous energy as the Junior Coordinator at Mt Eliza Tennis Club, where she fostered and encouraged a generation of juniors to fall in love with the game. Her ability to bring structure, positivity, and passion to every role she held made her a true community influencer – always giving her time with “energy to burn.”
Though Julia is now taking a well-earned rest from tennis administration, the programs and processes she established continue to pay dividends across the PTA, MPR, and at Mt Eliza Tennis Club. Her legacy is one of leadership, inspiration, and impact.
On behalf of everyone in the Peninsula tennis community – thank you, Julia, for everything you have given to the game and to our players. 💙🎾
